So we are close. The IAZA is very close to fruition. I realize this may seem quick to some of you, but this has been a project long in the planning. We've also got a great team behind us, a team not only very capable, but also believers. Believers in true Zombie equality.
There has been a small debate amongst us though. There are a few of us rankling against the name Zombie in favour of something less...common. I guess the idea is if we change the name, we change the public perception. I am not one of those in that camp. Terms like undead, unliving, extra lifers wreak of political correctness, and political correctness has always seemed to me to be servile.
My belief is that we should not be looking to change who we are, but to change the way people see us, and by extension, how we see ourselves. It is the dirty little secret in the community that there is a great deal of self-loathing amongst Zombies, and that we project that self-immolation on others, in particular the regulars (non-Zombies). I believe in Zombie pride. We are different, there is no way to change that, and that we shouldnt have to change to have equal rights. We are what we are, and we deserve civil treatment regardless.
The IAZA will follow that mantra. the rights of all Zombies follow in the same vein as the rights of all minorities. We need to change the world, not change for the world.
So with some tweaking (and a few financial/tax issues) to plod through, the IAZA will be up and running very shortly. Stay tuned and munch you later.
