Since this is my first entry, let me introduce myself. My name is Doug, well it used to be anyway. One night about three years ago I had an incident with an old school friend which changed my life forever. As you can likely guess that old neighbour was a zombie, and shortly after that visit, so was I.
Things arent the same as they used to be, there's no doubt about that. I used to work in an office, made a decent living, was married to a great woman, but that's all gone now. And you know what, I dont care. Maybe it's the reduced brain capacity, maybe its the social isolation, but that day changed all the things I once worried about. Am I happier? Hard to say. We all look on the past with rose coloured glasses after all. Life aint bad now, thats one thing i know for sure.
Part of the reason I am writing this blog is as a zombie advocate. Let's make it clear that despite what has been perceived about us, things aren't quite that way. I was shocked too. Now Ive seen all those zombie movies and I have to say things are a lot different than they make it out to be. Hollywood. Stupid Hollywood.
There is no underground movement focused on taking over the world. We aren't lurking outside your house waiting to take down you and your family. Were working stiffs trying to make it through life just like you. Sure we eat flesh, sure we drop flesh goo everywhere we go, but we are people too. Or at least we used to be. We used to be your husbands and wives, brothers and sisters, best friends, children, and parents. Don't forget that.
